The development of relations between Malacca and China was at that time a strategic decision to ward off further Siamese attacks.
Because of the strategic location, Malacca was an important outpost for Zheng He's spectacular exploration fleet. To enhance relations, Hang Li Po, allegedly a princess of the Ming Emporer of China, arrived in Malacca, accompanied by 500 attendants, to marry Sultan Manshur Shah who reigned from 1456 until 1477. Her attendants married the locals and settled mostly in Bukit Cina (Chinese Hill).
A cultural result of the vibrant trade was the expansion of the Peranakan people, who spread to other major settlements in the region.

| Cheng Hoon Teng Temple (青云亭） |
The Cheng Hoon Teng temple (青云亭) is a Buddhist temple in Jalan Tokong, Malacca, Malaysia. It is the oldest functioning temple in Malaysia.Built at the year 1645 by Kapitan Lee Wei King with materials imported from China, Cheng Hoon Teng served as the main worshiping place for local Hokkien community. The main hall was built at the year 1704 and was rebuilt in the year 1801 by Kapitan China Chua Su Cheong, who contributed to the aesthetic and magnificent structural additions of the building.
Year 1962, then abbot Seck Kim Seng ordained Houn Jiyu-Kennett, a Zen nun from England and the future founder of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, at this temple.
Year 2003, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple was awarded an UNESCO award on it outstanding architectural restoration.

Jonker Street
It's known by many names - Jalan Hang Jebat, Jonker Street, Jonker Walk. But whatever name you wish to call it, it's much the same as it was since the 19th century - a narrow street in Melaka's Chinatown area, home to the oldest buildings in the city, some dating back to the 17th century!
Its historical value is enhanced by its status as Melaka's foremost marketplace for antiques. Many antique shops line Jonker Street, selling items dating back to as far as the Portuguese occupation.
If you don't have the scratch to buy antiques, you can wait for the weekend night markets on Jonker Street, opening from 6pm to 12 midnight. On weekend evenings, hawkers set up along the streets to sell touristy gewgaws like arts and crafts, wooden clogs, jewelry, traditional food, and old coins. (Bargaining is essential if you want to get the best deal.) Cultural performances take place on the permanent stage erected at one end of the street.
If you're shopping for antiques, avoid going during the night market - visit in the daytime, when there are less people and you'll have more time to look through the merchandise.
If you'd like to see Jonker Street at its liveliest, try visiting during Chinese New Year, when the cultural activities are in full force, and you might just catch a Lion Dance weaving through the lane!

Old Shop Lots
This photo to show you another type of old shop lots at this city, these shop lots are very old and simply than some traditional / typical shop lots.
This type of old shop lots still using the old style wooden doors, which need to push it to a side when open it daily, the structure like a folding fan. Some of the wooden doors even have to take it out one by one the sheets of wood, and put it back for lock it when shop close.
Some of the shop lots seem abandoned and some houses had convert to shop lots as restaurants and hotels.

San Duo Temple, is an old temple that always miss out by tourists while visit to Malacca old city.San Duo Temple ( or mean 三多庙, in English 三 : Three, 多: Many, 庙 : Temple ) built at the year 1795 is one of the oldest temple at Melaka city.

Located at Jalan Tokong ( Temple Road ) off Jonker Street, as a shrine encapsulating effigies of
1) Da Bo Gong ( 大伯公 ),
2) Jin Hua Niang Niang ( 金花娘娘，who women entreat for children ) and
3) Guanyin ( 观音 ).
There have many temples found along this street, this area is within the UNESCO heritage site.

Malacca River is a river which flows through the middle Malacca Town in the Malaysian state of Malacca. It was once an important trade route during the heyday of Malacca Sultanate in the 15th century. It has lost most of this function in the present and is a mere tourist attraction.
Tricycles ("Beca" in Malay and 三轮车 in Chinese）
Walking around at Malacca old town, at a lonely street I saw a beautiful tricycle waiting passengers in front of a temple. Tricycles is a popular transport take by tourists while visit around Malacca city area. Some places interesting by tourist including Traditional Malay Village Kampung Morten, Traditional Chinese Resident Quarter, and the most interesting is Portugal colonial architecture - A' Farmosa and Netherlands Colonial Architectures.
Owners like to decorate their tricycles with colourful plastic flowers and wish all tourists have a happy trip.
